Marquam Group Information Technology Strategic Planning

In 1998, John Pontefract and three partners formed Boom Vang to provide services and products related to Lotus Notes. The same year, Chad Layman joined the group and created a division dedicated to developing custom applications. In 1999 Boom Vang won the worldwide IBM/Lotus award as a rising star. By 2002, the company had grown its revenue to $1.7 million and was recognized by Deloitte & Touche as one of the "Technology Fast 500" companies (809% growth from 1998-2002).

In 2003, the company rebranded itself as Marquam Group and expanded its services to offer a wider range of options to its clients. This included becoming a Microsoft Gold partner. In the same year, the company was recognized as one of Oregon's Fastest Growing Companies and as one of the Best Companies to Work for in Oregon. In 2007, Marquam Group was awarded the Microsoft Award for Excellence-in-Competency, Custom Software Development.
